Buster and Tori

Letter of Reference:
Hi Nell,
Here are some pictures of Tori and Buster at their very first show. I wanted to tell you how happy we are with Buster he is exactly what we were looking for for Tori. She was so scared after her accident I really didn't think we would ever get her back on a horse but now she's showing in walk trot classes. She even will make him canter here at home. The parents at pony club can't believe it's the same kid that I was leading around on my horse in the spring. You would not recognize her, she is really turning into a confident little rider and she loves Buster.
Thank you

Missy and Bethany

Dear Nell,
Thank you so much for assisting us to find the right match for Bethany. We had been looking for a pony for several months, and tried out quite a few, but found that they often were misrepresented by the owners, and not suitable for a young rider.
When we saw Missy on your site, we immediately fell in love with her, but I am cautious as I know buying horses is a serious matter. It needs to be a right match, especially for children. I found you very trustworthy to deal with, as well as straightforward about the horse.
Although we did not know if Missy and Bethany would be right for each other, I felt comfortable buying her sight unseen. To our great joy Missy is exactly how you described her: well-behaved, easy to handle, just a great little pony! She will definitely build Bethany's confidence and riding skills.
Thank you so much for finding us this wonderful pony! All the best in your future endeavours.
Sincerely,
Els Van Hierden

It is truly a pleasure to provide this letter for Nell Elders and Coldstream Ponies. From the moment I contacted Nell she has been understanding, kind, respectful and professional in every way. Nell patiently answered all my many, many questions and as we dialogued back and forth I felt confident that she understood my requirements completely.
We had been looking for the ‘perfect pony’ for months and after looking at & trying out over 20 ponies, (2 of which we thought were ‘perfect’) and after a brief trial on each, with my children in tears, both had to be sent home as they were unsuitable. I honestly thought we would never find just what we were looking for. Our requirements were challenging, my oldest daughter at 7½ was a capable, ‘advanced’, yet still novice, rider and ‘show’ ready but on just the ‘right pony’. We didn’t want a pony that was too forward, nor one that was too lazy, nor a sour old lesson pony! The pony’s balance and topline had to be just right and with no spook, vices, bad habits, naughty behaviors or dirty stops. And of course, the pony had to be cute, kind, willing, honest, sound, well trained and have wonderful ground manners of every kind. To make things more complicated, my youngest daughter at 4½ had just started riding, so the pony would be required to lunge quietly & patiently for a small child and overall be tolerant of 2 kids pouring their love over it day in and day out.
To my delight, Nell truly believed that ‘Peaches’ would be the perfect fit! Once again, Nell accommodated my request to have our Trainer view the pony at an ‘A Circuit’ show she was attending, approximately 1½ hours drive away from Coldstream. Upon arriving at the agreed upon time, Nell & Peaches patiently waited for some time, while the warm up chaos & confusion of pre-show schooling subsided and our Trainer was able to spend time with them.
Our Trainer called me almost immediately to let me know how perfect Peaches was and that she’d be coming back from the show for a week’s trial at our stable. We were thrilled, so say the least! Nell was fabulous to deal with and extremely helpful throughout the trial, vetting and sale of Peaches. There were ‘no high pressure’ tactics, if anything, Nell insisted that the fit had to be just right on both sides!
Nell (and Peaches) are truly those gems that are not often found! They both have hearts of gold and it shows that Nell really cares about what she is doing. She is the consummate ‘matchmaker’, matching her ponies with their new families perfectly. I would not hesitate to call Nell if you are looking to buy, lease or sell a horse or pony, I only wish I had known of her 3 months ago! Nell, thank you once again, we’ll definitely keep in touch and let you know all the wonderful things Peaches is doing and don’t hesitate to use us as a reference!
